DVTel’s
intelligent Security Operations Center (iSOC) V6 is an open platform management
system which includes a growing family of DVTel modules including Latitude
Network Video Management System, Scenetracker Situational Awareness and
Adaptive Visualisation Technology (AVT), CaseBuilder Incident Reporting and
management Software, Longitude IP Access Control and Mentor Agent Recording and
Training Software.

Importantly,
DVTel’s iSOC V6 offers high definition quality combined with real time,
multi-compression standard support of H.264 and MPEG4. According to DVTel, iSOC
is the only open standards, IP-based security management system that combines
video, audio, data, access control, sensors, trend analysis and alarm
management functionality in a single enterprise physical security centre.

The key to DVTEL
iSOC V6 is the system’s dynamic workstation which combines a range of modules
for the most flexible and powerful operation possible. The iSOC V6 dynamic
workspace allows specific users within the organization to tailor their own
security operation center to their specific objectives and allow immediate
intelligent action while reacting to a threat or situation. The many modules
available within the iSOC create what DVTel describes as ‘a virtual reality for
everything the security professional needs in a physical security solution’.

“There are not
only multiple solutions within iSOC, the system offers complete integration
between all these solutions on a single workstation and does so in intuitive
ways”

Pacific
Communications’ Mark Shannon says that with DVTEL iSOC Version 6 it’s possible
to access the system’s intuitiveness to manage and automate different tasks,
use the rules-based engine to run multiple analyses and create various
reports.

According to Shannon,
the iSOC Version 6 has all the ease of Version 5 but is a major enhancement
with H.264 integration and far greater capability.

“This system has
a great deal of power,” says Shannon. “There are not only multiple solutions
within iSOC, the system offers complete integration between all these solutions
on a single workstation and does so in intuitive ways.

“For a start
there’s a new GUI with a new shape and look to enhance display of video, with
improved video display and controls. The controls to manage the video pop up on
the tile itself – they’re not elsewhere on the screen. It’s dynamic and easier
to use.

“For instance, you
can create a catalogue of footage and data from other solutions within iSOC with
maps, instructions, documents, spreadsheets – whatever relates to the event,”
he explains. “This can all be stored in one server location or burned on a DVD.

“Some of the other
great features include the fact each workstation can have up to 10 monitors and
each monitor can support 25 cameras – this can be used as a video wall if
required.

“And operating
the system could not be more intuitive. You can add icons for click and drag –
you can define spot monitors and double click on the camera and footage will go
to that monitor. There’s great usability.”

Shannon says the
ability to link the different solutions within iSOC make it a unique solution.

“Consider the way
the graphics and maps integrate,” he enthuses. “I can click on a map of
Australia, through to Sydney, to a suburb, to a site, to a building using
multimedia tiles. Because they’re not video tiles, that means information can
be incorporated.”

“An alarm can
pop-up, you can send an email, capture and playback pre-incident video footage,
you can bring it up on any tile you like, on any workstation or on any monitor
– it’s set up to be very user friendly – very capable and very functional.”

Importantly, there’s
integration with Cardax, Andover, Lenel and Forcefield access control solutions
– all of which gives the system greater flexibility.

“DVTEL is a
powerful system – the biggest site in Australia is 4000 cameras – this solution
has a 10GB fibre backbone with multiple 1GB fibres along it to handle every individual
locations, and 1.5 Petabytes of storage – that’s 1.5 million Terabytes.”

“Pacific
Communications has hundreds of DVTel sites across Australia and with this
powerful new iSOC Version 6 we look forward to hundreds more.”

“Operating the
system could not be more intuitive. You can add icons for click and drag – you
can define spot monitors and double click on the camera and footage will go to
that monitor. There’s great usability”
